Warrick County was formed by statute in 1813. The 1851 Indiana Constitution granted the General Assembly the power to create circuit courts. The General Assembly divided Indiana into circuits based on county lines. Each county in Indiana has at least one circuit court. Indiana has 92 counties, and 90 of these counties comprise their own circuit, with their own circuit court. The remaining two small counties have been combined to form one circuit. The jurisdiction of the Warrick Circuit Court includes civil, criminal, juvenile and probate matters.
Judge Greg A. Granger was elected Judge of the Warrick Circuit Court in 2015. The Warrick Circuit Court staff consists of the elected Judge, two Guardian ad Litems, one Bailiff, two Court Reporters, and one part-time office assistant. The Circuit Court Probation Department staff consists of one Adult Probation Officer, one Juvenile Probation Officer, one Court Reporter, and one part-time office assistant. Circuit Court also oversees the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program of Warrick County.
